Wipfli LLP is currently seeking a Specialist II for our Rockford, IL office.  This position will provide business processing services for the firm’s clients on a more independent basis, ensuring delivery is timely, accurate and serves the client’s needs, in accordance with company policies and procedures.  


  • Enter, process, and reconcile client transactions on a regular and timely basis.  
  • Prepare reports as appropriate in accordance with firm and professional standards as directed by engagement leaders.
  • Actively participate in on-boarding new clients.
  • Continue to develop technical competency according to applicable guidelines/regulations and with the various software systems used to provide the services.
  • Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner.
  • Communicate proactively with other firm associates regarding open items, problems, or other important matters in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to prescribed policies, time budgets and deadline


  • Requires up to three years of job related experience
  • Requires an Associate Degree in related field
  • Working towards Professional Bookkeeper (PB), Certified Bookkeeper (CB), or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred, or equivalent work experience, as appropriate.
  • Small business accounting software (such as QuickBooks ProAdvisor) certification as appropriate (not required at the time of hire, but must be completed within first year of service) as needed.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe and Outlook. 
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively
  • Ability to balance many projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines
  • Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions
