    Wipfli LLP is seeking an Accounting Specialist to work out of our Havre, Chester or Malta, MT office.  The Payroll /Accounting Services Specialist provides business services for the firm’s clients on a more independent basis, ensuring delivery is timely, accurate and serves the client’s needs, in accordance with company policies and procedures

     

     

     

    Responsibilities

    • Enter, process, and reconcile client transactions in Quickbooks or Quickbooks Online on a regular and timely basis.
    • Prepare reports as appropriate in accordance with firm and professional standards as directed by engagement leaders.
    • Actively participate in on-boarding new clients.
    • Continue to develop technical competency according to applicable guidelines/regulations and with the various software systems used to provide the services.
    • Respond to client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner.
    • Communicate proactively with other firm associates regarding open items, problems, or other important matters in a timely manner.
    • Adhere to prescribed policies, time budgets and deadlines.
    • Prepare correspondence related to client engagements under supervision as appropriate.
    • Participate in core CPE programs.
    • Develop a familiarity with Wipfli service offerings with the intent of applying that knowledge towards identifying additional client opportunities.
    • Actively participate in community activities to develop positive relationships with community leaders and members.
    • Assist the team in special projects as appropriate.

    Qualifications

    • Associate Degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
    • Working towards CA, Professional Bookkeeper (PB), Certified Bookkeeper (CB), or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred, or equivalent work experience, as appropriate.
    • Small business accounting software (such as QuickBooks ProAdvisor) certification as appropriate (not required at the time of hire, but must be completed within first year of service) as needed.
    • 1-3 years job related experience
    • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively
    • Ability to balance many projects simultaneously
    • Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines
    • Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Adobe, Outlook, and position specific software applications as appropriate.
