    Are you looking to build a career as an accountant in a top 20 public accounting firms in the country? Wipfli is currently seeking staff accountants to join our team! Our staff accountants participate in a rotational program that allows them the opportunity to experience several different industries and types of work within the first few years of employment. We work with our associates to become industry experts in order to best serve our clients that leads to a fulfilling career.

    Responsibilities

     
    • Communicate with client and firm associate requests in a timely, accurate, positive and professional manner
    • Prepare individual, business and fiduciary tax returns and projections in accordance with firm and professional standards as directed by engagement leaders
    • Understand and effectively use current tax and accounting software applications
    • Research technical tax issues
    • Perform audit, review, and compliance testing procedures in accordance with firm an professional standards and as directed by engagement leaders
    • Communicate with engagement leaders regarding open items, testing problems, or other important matters in a timely manner
    • Prepare (or review client prepared) financial statements and footnotes, management reports, and other engagement outputs
    • Adhere to prescribed budgets and deadlines
    • Participate in core CPE programs
    • Actively participate in community activities to develop positive relationships with community leaders and members
    • Actively participate in firm sponsored events for assigned product line clients and prospects

    Qualifications

    • Requires a Bachelors Degree in Accounting
    • Minimum GPA of 3.2
    • Eligible to sit for CPA exam prior to beginning employment (150 credits completed)
    • An accounting internship experience preferred
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Strong computers skills; proficient in Excel, Word, and other widely used programs
    • Experience with accounting software is a plus
    • High level of organization, focus, exceptional attention to detail and strong follow-up skills
