General Purpose: Under the direction of the Information Technology (IT) Director, the Engineer I follows documented procedures to produce technical results, and researches, identifies, proposes, designs, and assists in implementing technical solutions for reported problems or project assigned tasks, in accordance with firm policies and procedures.



  • Collaborate with IT and business owners to translate business needs into technology requirements.
  • Conduct technical research and fact gathering to support root cause analysis of problems, issues, or tasks assigned. Resolve incidents using established guidelines and procedures with guidance from more senior team members.
  • Produce technical documentation for assigned tasks according to firm policies and procedures.
  • Research, document and present potential technical solutions and corresponding risks for reported problems or project assigned tasks.
  • Design, develop, test, or configure systems to meet documented requirements related to project work. Participate in the implementation of technical solutions.
  • Participate in Vendor interactions as required or directed from project leader.
  • Perform system maintenance including application of security patches, system upgrades, hardware maintenance and or preventative maintenance activities.
  • Work effectively as part of an agile team completing work accurately and on time.
  • Demonstrate strong client service behaviors.
  • Demonstrate basic Core 4 principles (Confident, Outward- Thinking, Resourceful, Exploratory) plus being anticipatory.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Follow and suggest improvements for QA and change management procedures.
  • Perform on-call support for after business hours as needed.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to produce and interpret conceptional and logical data models
  • Able to communicate technical content to non-technical audience
  • Solid understanding of data visualization techniques
  • Experience in developing in Microsoft Power BI including data modeling and DAX
  • Able to demonstrate capabilities in Microsoft T-SQL for the development and maintenance of queries, stored procedures, functions, etc.
  • Familiarity with technologies/languages such as Microsoft Azure Data Factory, SQL Server Analysis Services (tabular models), SQL Reporting Services, SQL Integration Services, Python, Azure DevOp Azure DevOps (preferred)
  • Capable of working in a remote environment
  • Understanding of Agile with experience in executing as part of a scrum team preferred


Minimum Education:

  • Requires an Associate Degree in Information Technology, or an equivalent combination of education and job related experience
  • A Bachelors Degree in IT or an IT related major would be preferred


Previous Experience:

  • 0 to 3 years of job-related technical experience


Specific experience:

  • Ability to effectively communicate, especially with non-technical audiences
  • Implementation participation
  • Proven proficiencies in technology design, administration, operation, or development



  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively
  • Ability to balance many projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure and time deadlines
  • Ability to analyze data and recommend solutions
  • Ability to observe, think critically, and demonstrate a rational thought process and linear thinking



  • Strong written and verbal skills are very important for this position



  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point
  • Other: Experience with Visio and exposure to a variety of technology systems preferred
