Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Total Rewards & HR Systems, the Manager, HR Systems provides leadership, planning, budgeting input, project coordination and management to implement and maintain a cost-effective HR systems ecosystem while concurrently facilitating efficient operations to meet current and future business needs within the HR organization.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Leads and develops the HR systems team members and collaborates with HR partners, various departments (i.e., IT), and outside vendors to create efficient and effective processes, workflows, and integrations.
  • Ensures effective leverage of work across the team, defines goals and monitors progress, and supports career development.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Total Rewards & HR Systems (and the organization) to design, develop and execute a plan to implement the HRIS and transition appropriate systems over time.
  • Manages project plans and status reporting for projects in area of responsibility, in partnership with HR systems team, EPO, and IT as appropriate.
  • Collaborates to define business requirements and translate business needs into multi-year and tactical system implementation plans, including project prioritization, scheduling and resource planning. Applies solid rationale and sound judgement to recommendations, seeking highest value or return on the resources invested (time and $)
  • Heads up the implementation, testing and training of process improvements, innovative tools and enhancements for the HR function to increase overall efficiency, effectiveness, and user experience, identify business process gaps, and develop solutions to address gaps efficiently and effectively.
  • Partners with IT and Risk Management for contract review and negotiation and security reviews before any new vendors are implemented or contracts renewed.
  • Maintains knowledge of current industry thinking and trends and regularly communicates thought leadership in this area as necessary.
  • Recognizes when change leadership is needed and influences toward a resolution to help our organization evolve in its mature use of data and process.
  • Acts as central point of contact on data conversions – i.e. legal entity moves, conversion of mini master records to full records, acquisition and divestitures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Finance, Business, Economics or related field, or relevant experience
  • 7+ years of experience in the analysis, design and/or administration of HR systems
  • 5+ years of experience in HRIS platforms (SAP, Oracle, Successfactors), information systems, database management or related field
  • Experience leading a team
  • Experience testing large-scale systems
  • Experience with change initiatives, process improvement and/or simplification initiatives
  • Experience with process improvement initiatives, with a focus on HR processes and their impact on HR systems preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the field’s concepts and principles
  • Deep experience/knowledge of HR talent and compensation tools (SuccessFactors, Workday, Oracle, etc)
  • Expertise of system security roles/definitions/assignment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Workday implementation and administration preferred.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to articulate business and functional requirements for translation into technical specifications and test cases for development, data mapping, function mapping, setting of development tables and setting of transaction/control tables.
  • Ability to run and manage a team and foster teamwork
  • Ability to identify and seek needed information/research skills
  • Ability to conceptualize data and the impact of changes in data on downstream processes
  • Ability to build relationships while working virtually
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work effectively
  • Ability to work autonomously and assume responsibilities while recognizing when to ask for help
  • Ability to hold a high degree of accuracy, confidentiality, and timeliness for completion of projects
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills. Ability to communicate clearly and present information in a virtual setting.
  • Advanced in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Experience working with a project planning and/or project execution toolset such as MS Project, JIRA, DevOps, or other.
  • Ability to analyze data and information to recommend solutions
