Responsibilities

Location: Remote (Candidates located in West Coast preferred, and work in Pacific Time Zone schedule required)
 
Under the direction of the Partner/Senior Manager leading the FQHC service area, the Senior Consultant is focused on leading services delivery to clients, developing project workplans and scoping, and project management, all in accordance with firm guidelines, policies and procedures.
 
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Continuously learns about the business model, operations, requirements, challenges, and opportunities of Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs).
  • Works in a team to assess FQHC needs through document analysis, interviews, and observations; articulates client challenges in clear and accessible ways.
  • Develops project scopes and workplans that simplify complex projects into actionable steps, phases, and milestones, with projections for timing, pricing, and resources.
  • Provides day to day project management that incorporates budget tracking, timeline, and SME utilization, while focusing on useful deliverables for the client.
  • Informs others of costs, quality, schedule, and risk within the engagement parameters.
  • Communicates with clarity, tone, and precision in written and spoken formats to build mutual understandings; ensures proactive internal and external client management.
  • Relates all work back to financial outcomes by including detailed analysis in every project, generally captured in profit/loss projections.
  • Performs detailed and quantitative analysis of client source data to spot patterns, trends, and dynamics to inform strategy that goes beyond surface level problems.
  • Analyzes complex federal and state healthcare regulations to understand FQHC compliance and reimbursement requirements.
  • Communicates with, engages, and learns from other Wipfli SMEs to bring specialized expertise into projects. Integrates other resources into projects in an authentic way,
  • Prioritizes ethics and a commitment to the values of the community health industry.
 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Exposure and comfort with analytics and project management
  • 3+ years’ experience in a professional services firm, healthcare, or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in related field, such as MPH, MPA, and MBA
  • Training, support or consulting advisory experience preferred
  • Past work experience in Community Health, especially FQHCs, is preferred
  • Candidates located in West Coast preferred, and work in Pacific Time zone schedule required
  • Exposure to financial analysis and revenue cycle management preferred
Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to scope, plan, and budget for projects, while adeptly prioritizing and organizing work under pressure to meet budget and time deadlines.
  • Ability to manage teams, deliver results, and manage multiple projects concurrently, while remaining agile in responding to unexpected events or changing priorities.
  • Skilled in managing client expectations, escalating effectively, and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Superb time management skills to facilitate multiple concurrent priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical and business concepts to a diverse audience of stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Works to build, maintain, and utilize individual relationships or networks with co-workers, clients, and other people who are, or might be, helpful in achieving work-related goals.

 

Work Relationship and Scope:   

Position will report to the Performance Coach for priority setting/direction and support. Works closely with firm leadership and staff to complete day-to-day responsibilities. Will have frequent contact with clients and works closely with others to ensure seamless client service. 

 

Working Conditions:  

Pleasant office environment with recurrent deadline pressure. Uses personal or rental vehicle to travel on a frequent basis. Occasional/frequent overnight travel requiredOccasional bending and stretching as well as lifting and moving of materials weighing up to 10 lbs.

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $72,000 to $120,000, with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws. 

 

Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
