Job Summary
Under the direction of the Manager, Finance, the Senior Billing Analyst is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the billing team, ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient billing and collection functions across all service lines. This role requires strong people management skills to lead and develop a team of Industry Aligned Analysts, while driving operational excellence and continuous process improvement. The Supervisor will collaborate closely with cross-functional departments to monitor workflows, optimize billing procedures, and uphold firm-wide policies and standards.

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the billing team, providing daily direction, coaching, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality output and team engagement.
  • Oversee the generation and distribution of invoices, credit memos, reversals, and resolution of billing issues across all service lines.
  • Monitor team activity for accuracy and compliance with internal procedures and client contractual terms.
  • Serve as the operational point person for billing-related updates from other departments, ensuring timely communication and implementation of changes.
  • Maintain and update client billing profiles within billing software; identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Ensure adherence to multiple invoice procedures based on Engagement Letters, contractual terms, and firm policies.
  • Stay current with billing regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and recommend enhancements.
  • Provide onboarding, training, and ongoing development for billing staff to build capabilities and support career growth.
  • Support collections efforts by industry as needed or requested by the Manager, Finance.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent educational training preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in billing or financial operations.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in people management and team operations.
  • Proven ability to build productive relationships across departments and levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong leadership and team development skills.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects effectively.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in client-facing documentation.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and recommend solutions.
  • Strong business judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Adaptability in navigating ambiguity and driving change.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to train others on software systems and operational procedures.

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $60,000 - $81,000 with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws. 

 

Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
