Responsibilities

Job Summary

Under the direction of a Manager, or Senior Manager/Director, the Senior Consultant will develop and deliver client-focused solutions that drive operational excellence and client success, with an emphasis on managed services engagements. This role is highly client-facing and requires the ability to self-manage while building strong relationships, understanding client needs, and collaborating with internal teams to ensure high-quality service delivery. The Senior Consultant helps lead and shape delivery resources in accordance with firm policies, proactively addressing risks and opportunities to support client satisfaction, retention, and growth. When not leading people or business development efforts, the role focuses on expanding and improving service offerings across Wipfli’s footprint.

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Proposes solutions aligned to client business needs; proactively identifies risks, timeline pressures, and scope considerations and recommends mitigation strategies.
  • Serves as a primary client contact, building strong stakeholder relationships, conducting regular check-ins, and managing inquiries, escalations, and issue resolution.
  • Leads client onboarding and adoption activities, ensuring smooth transitions, alignment to objectives, and effective use of managed services through best practices and training.
  • Plans, organizes, and monitors project work plans to ensure engagements are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Collects and analyzes data, conducts client interviews, prepares workpapers and reports, and serves as a subject matter expert for assigned solutions or services.
  • Manages out-of-scope requests and change management communications in partnership with project and engagement leadership.
  • Oversees billing management for assigned engagements by reviewing work performed against scope and budget, ensuring accurate time entry, coordinating time transfers, and supporting timely, accurate invoicing.
  • Tracks service performance and client utilization, supports KPI reporting, and communicates service value and performance updates to clients.
  • Trains, mentors, and coaches Consultant I and Consultant II staff; delegates work to support staff development.
  • Participates in business development and account growth activities by supporting renewals, identifying expansion opportunities, and contributing subject matter expertise to proposals, scoping, and client conversations.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • 5+ years’ experience in a professional services firm or 5+ years of private industry experience focused on appropriate technical area with 1+ years in professional services.
  • 3+ years of experience leading data and analytics technology projects, including solutions built on platforms such as Microsoft Fabric, Snowflake, Qlik, or Power BI
  • 3+ years of experience managing client relationships and engagement success, including billing oversight, account management, and expansion of services and revenue

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field
  • Training, support or consulting advisory experience.
  • Experience with compliance or professional standards associated with area of expertise.
  • Works towards obtaining additional appropriate advanced certifications.

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $88,000 to $118,000, with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws. 

 

Individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
