Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director, Business Development, the Senior Account Executive supports the firm's professional services sales efforts within designated markets, industries, and client segments by assisting in the development and closure of new business opportunities. The Account Executive generates revenue through new client acquisition and the expansion of existing client relationships. This role utilizes a consultative sales approach to identify client needs, advance sales opportunities from qualification through close, and collaborate with firm professionals to deliver solutions that support client success and firm growth. 

Responsibilities

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develops and manages relationships with prospective and existing clients to identify business opportunities and drive revenue growth.  
  • Expands services within existing client accounts through effective client relationship management and consultative business development activities. Delivers on-site and virtual sales presentations to prospective and existing clients.  
  • Manages sales opportunities from lead generation and qualification through close in accordance with Wipfli's Sales Methodology.  
  • Coordinates the conversion of qualified leads by leveraging Wipfli's professional services resources through a team-selling approach.  
  • Supports the Opportunity Pursuit Team in advancing strategic business opportunities. Collaborates with industry and geographic teams to establish productive working relationships and support growth initiatives.  
  • Shares market intelligence, client insights, and business development opportunities with industry, geographic, and marketing teams.  
  • Translates growth and marketing plans into sales tactics aligned with the firm's overall growth strategy.  
  • Participates in marketing and business development activities, including email campaigns, trade shows, webinars, social media, and other promotional efforts.  
  • Maintains professional and industry knowledge through participation in educational opportunities, professional organizations, networking activities, and industry publication 
  • Applies training, industry knowledge, and professional expertise to provide consultative guidance and solutions to prospective and existing clients. 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Marketing, Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or another related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.  
  • 5+ years of business development, sales, or client relationship management experience.  
  • Experience developing and maintaining client relationships that result in revenue growth.  
  • 5+ years of experience selling professional services through a solution-oriented, consultative sales approach.  
  • Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding revenue and sales performance goals.  
  • Experience developing business relationships with organizations ranging from approximately $25 million to $250 million in annual revenue. 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Business Administration (MBA).  
  • Experience within a professional services or financial services firm.  
  • Active involvement in professional, industry, or business community organizations.

Wipfli values fair, transparent, and competitive compensation, considering each candidate's unique skills and experiences. The estimated base pay range for this role is $88,000 to $118,000, with offers typically not made at the maximum, allowing for future salary increases. The actual salary at the time of offer depends on business related factors like location, skills, experience, training/education, licensure, certifications, business needs, current associate pay, and relevant employment laws. 

 

Individuals may be eligible for a commission plan, subject to participation rules and based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual and Firm performance.
